1. Purpose of the SAFYAs:
The SAFYAs aim to recognize and celebrate young individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to actively opposing discrimination, bullying and prejudice, supporting and caring for others in need, and working within conflict resolution and social inclusion within their community. The awards seek to honour the legacy of Anne Frank by encouraging young people to be active agents of positive change.
2. Eligibility Criteria:
To submit a nomination for the SAFYAs, the Nominee must meet the following criteria:
- Be between the age of 9 and 18 years at the time of the nomination.
- Have shown outstanding efforts in demonstrating any of Somerset Anne Frank Youth Awards’ three core values.
- Be actively involved in initiatives that contribute to the betterment of their community.
3. Nominator Eligibility:
Any individual or organization may submit a nomination for the SAFYAs, provided they have a thorough understanding of the Nominee's contributions and can provide substantial evidence supporting the nomination.
4. Submission Process:
- Nominations must be submitted using the official nomination form available on Somerset Anne Frank Youth Awards website. Handwritten or email submissions will not be accepted.
- The nomination form should be completed in English and should provide detailed information about the Nominee and their achievements.
- Nominations must include the contact information the Nominator.
5. Supporting Documentation:
- Nominators are encouraged to submit supporting materials that provide evidence of the nominee's activities, impact, and leadership.
- Supporting documentation may include letters of recommendation, media coverage, videos, photographs, or any other relevant materials.
6. Deadline:
All nominations for the SAFYAs must be submitted by the specified deadline, as mentioned on the official website. Late submissions will not be considered.
7. Multiple Nominations:
- Nominators may submit multiple nominations for different individuals, but each nomination should be for a separate Nominee.
- A Nominee may be considered for the award in multiple years if they continue to meet the eligibility criteria.
8. Confidentiality:
- All information provided in the nomination form and supporting documents will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and used solely for the purpose of evaluating the Nominee.
- The selection committee and organizers will not disclose any information without the consent of the Nominator and Nominee.
9. Selection Process:
- The SAFYAs selection committee will carefully review all eligible nominations.
- The committee will assess Nominees based on the strength of their contributions, the impact of their initiatives, and their dedication to demonstrating Somerset Anne Frank Youth Awards’ three core values.
- The decision of the selection committee will be final and not subject to appeal.
10. Award Ceremony:
- Award recipients will be notified in advance of the official award ceremony.
- The award ceremony will be held at a designated venue, and all winners are encouraged to attend in person to receive the award.
11. Disqualification:
- Nominations that do not meet the eligibility criteria or are submitted after the deadline will be disqualified.
- Nominations with inaccurate or misleading information will also be disqualified.
